Bottled. Reddish brown colour with a mediumsized off-white head. Aroma is grains, toast, some slight roasted and mild nutty tones with some slight dried fruits. Flavour is roasted, nutty, some grainy, toasted and mild chocolaty and toffeish tones. A mild bittery touch to it.

From my BA backlog. 0.75 cl Bottle: shared at the 2014 Pre Brugge beer exchanged organised by Filip of the Belgian Beer Board website. Thank you whoever brought this beauty to the table. Black body with a good tanned crown on top. Malty with coffee and dark chocolate notes in the aroma, these carried on into the taste also. This is a good solid Stout, hints of liquorice came and went with dark chocolate being the dominant flavour in my opinion. I am warming to Italian beers, my visit to Rome in Dec 2013 helped and the beers I tried during this bottle swap were all interesting and of a good quality.

Bottle: Poured a dark black color stout with a large off-white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of roasted malt with light dry bitter notes. Taste is dominated by roasted malt with some dry bitter malt notes with dry coffee notes and light black chocolates. Body is about average for style with a bit too strong carbonation for the style. OK but not something I would seek to try again.

330ml bottle [’Birrificio del Ducato Oatmeal Stout’, 4.5% abv]. Clear, red glowing darkest brown colour with average to huge, firm, frothy, tan head. Grainy, minimally spicy, dark malty aroma, a touch of salt. Taste is initially dry to bitter dark malty, roast, ashes, later with a sourish touch. Light body.

Bottled 330ml "Birrificio del Ducato Oatmeal Stout" (Bierkompass, ABV 4.5 %, BB 04/2013)
Dark ruby color, big but quickly collapsing beige cloudy head, lace. Ashy and toasted aroma. Vegetables lurking in the background. Light bodied. Lots of cold coffee and some ash in the toasted malty llavour. Light stout. Decent flavor, maybe a bit too ashy/burned and dry for my liking.

Light brown. No head. Light roast aroma. The palate is light roasty and gentle acidity, pretty much like cheap hotel coffee.

Bottle by mail order from Umano liquor store in Kanazawa. Shiny pitch black with a thick, fine head. Nice, complex nose: chocolate, hazelnuts, light coffee, bread, oats, touch of blackberries. Dry, roasty flavor, dark chocolate and espresso. Lacking compared to the nose. A bit thin on the palate, and very carbonated. Strange drynessgive way to soft sweetness. Interesting.
