unclear brown, small brown head. aroma of caramel and slight sourness. not very powerfull aroma. flavor is malty, slight roasted grains, brown sugar, faint butnice fruityness perhaps from the hops. faint spices. solid and decent but not fantasitic cristmas brew. for a belgian strong ale, perhaps a bit simple. good value for money.

70 cL bottle, #10686. Pours murky brown with light brown head. Aroma is light sweet, caramel malt, some breadish notes and a mild spice note. Flavour starts sweet, goes into a mild caramel malt flavour with notes of bread and a mild spice note on top. Flavour goes slight banana fruity and spiced towards the finish. Nice and Christmassy brew, but not thrilling.

Bottled. A deep red beer with a bubbly and fast disappearing brown head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of yeast, fruit, and spices - amongst them nutmeg. The flavor is very sweet and very spicy amongst them nutmeg and coriander, but also with fruity notes of prunes and raisins, leading to a spicy, fruity, and dry finish, at the very last the alcohol leaves a warming sensation in the top of the throat and on the tongue.

(Bottle 75 cl) Hazy, orangey brown with an off-white head. Very fruity aroma with notes of cloves and yeast. Quite full-bodied with lightly sweet, roasted malt, oranges and other fruit and then a vinous edge with some almond notes and yeast. Wauw, the yeast has really been working overtime here producing all these interesting esters. Overall fairly dry and lovely. 081206
