Boss Tweed is 9.3% of hazy swagger. So much swagger it’s been one of the Midwest’s highest-rated hazy double IPAs for 7 years and running! An unrestrained, must-try hazy brew bursting with citrusy hops and tropical peach, mango, and tangerine aromas.

A nice pilsner malt backbone with a touch of Vienna provides balance and a lingering sweetness on the back end with a hint of warming from the higher alcohol content.

The aromas are mostly fresh grapefruit hops with some orange and hints of peaches and mango. Flavors are like nose, a little more sweet than bitter upfront with some growing bitterness towards the end. Matched well with good carbonation and great body. Just a smidgen of alcohol warmth at the end. Pretty good beer. I do like the m43 better though.

Hop burn is not a spicy hop finish. Flavors are all spot-on for the style, offering up plenty of citrus, tropical, and stone fruit notes, but the cumulative astringency coming from drinking an entire pint is not pleasant in the slightest. Beer should not hurt.

Super hazy and deep orange coloured body with a nice three to four centimetre tall tan head with about ninety per cent opacity with a raw honey and bright glowing body. Aroma of oranges, resin, pineapple, mangoes, light pine and flowers with a noticeable hit of alcohol, but way more sweetness in the nose. Full-bodied; Very strong honey, sweet caster sugar notes dominate at first with a strong malt and grassy bite with some great fruit notes with a slight medicinal and astringent flavour with a good deal of bitterness, but the strong fruits and especially sweetness dominate in a great way here. Aftertaste is rich and very robust throughout, with a pungent alcohol and dryness from malt at first but balanced nicely with a great deal of fruits, a lot of sweetness, honey and good bite from alpha acids of the deep hops and some balanced malts. Overall, a very nice real Imperial IPA with a ton of fruits and especially sweetness that give a lot of body and flavour to balance out nicely the deep hops and bitterness - a very good and nice real Imperial IPA that shows closer to 8,0 per cent alcohol - nice! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Knightly Spirits in Orlando (Orange Blossom Trail), Florida on 30-December-2020, packaged 18-November-2020 for US$4,74 sampled at my house back up in Washington on 10-January-2021.

16oz can. Thick, true, peach-orange body. Thin, white head. At 9.3% a little strong for my liking, but dryhopped massively enough to work. Heavy handed stuff, some mild hop burn. Vegetal wheat oat dryhop tone. Really good new school IIPA.

Can from Tavour. Pours dark murky orange juice. White head. Aroma of mango, citrus and other stuff. Med plus body. It's juicy. Not dry. Quite tropical. Mango, citrus, melon, passion fruit. Bitter enough. Somewhat roasty malt support. Gets rather orange with time. Quite an impressive ale.
