Oak Barrel-Aged Mixed Fermentation Saison with Black Currants
Introducing Madeline with Black Currants, our first fruited version of Madeline (one of the first beers we ever brewed at Pure). We created this special iteration by using Madeline as the base—a blend of mixed-fermentation saisons aged in pinot noir French oak barrels—then infused it with 600 pounds of whole, organic black currants. The result is a complex yet graceful saison with aromas of raspberry soft chew, ripe strawberry, and watermelon. On the palate, you’ll find flavors of cherry skins, black currant, and a touch of funk over a beautiful backbone of oak. With medium bright acidity and subtle tannins, this beer offers a perfect balance between tartness and depth. Madeline with Black Currants is a nod to our beginnings, our passion for using organic ingredients, and our love for the rustic farmhouse saisons of Belgium.
