Amelia is our loganberry mead, and our newest addition to the Schramm family roster. In the early 1880’s Santa Cruz fruit breeder James Harvey Logan interbred Aughinbaugh blackberries with Red Antwerp raspberries, and the loganberry was born. Over a century later, in 2016, so was Amelia Schramm Naeger. Deep red in color, this melomel lets the bright tartness and natural acidity of the berries shine through, expertly balanced by Orange Blossom honey sweetness. Like this mead’s namesake, Amelia is expected to develop and mature for many years.

Poured from a 375 ml bottle split 2 ways received in trade from Dsum. Aroma is insane with juicy notes of raspberry, blackberry, cherry, honey. The flavor is just about as close to perfection as can be. Cherry, honey, notes of tart sour berry. The viscous liquid coats your palate, Abv is well hidden. This was worth the cost. Amazing.

375 ml bottle shared by Chalmeaux. Aroma is rich with raspberry, blackberry, cherry, honey. The flavor is just absolutely fantastic. Black berry mix with raspberry, notes of tart sour berry. Smooth, easy honey that covers the alcohol content. Slick texture over the palate. Dear baby Jesus this is good!

A dark burgundy red mead with aroma of dark blueberry, light tobacco, alcohol warmth, very nice. In mouth, dark fruits, light hops, alcohol warmth, leather notes, dry yet sweet, very nice. Bottle at meadery.
