Bottle (thanks juhan). Pours black with dark brown head. Aroma is sweet, bourbon, oat, malt, chocolate. Flavor is sweet and bitter, roast, chocolate, bourbon, malt, booze. Finish is chocolate and bourbon. Overall: great.

Bottle from Beer Republic. Dark color, short frothy brown head. Aroma of roast and dark chocolate, slight vanilla and cookie from bourbon and some smoked ham notes. Thick creamy body. Again dark chocolate with some bourbon whisky notes and a bit of spicy and smokey meat. Bit boozy in the finish. I thought the regular version was a bit too malt and roast forward, but the sweetness of the bourbon brings more balance. Still the malt is quite prominent ofcourse, and it could be more complex, but after a disappointing Kees BA beer, Im definitely enjoying this one.

Bottle @ home shared with Dutchdrebus. Opaque pitch black color, average sized brown head. Aroma is malts, bourbon, soft roast and oak. Taste malts, roasted malts, bourbon heavily, more roast. Oh yes awesome beer! Love this!

Bottle @ benzai. Black with a medium sized brown head. Smells roasty, chocolate, sweet, nice. Tastes chocolate, chocolate bitterness, roasty, sweet, coffee. Very nice. Full body, soft to medium carbo.

almost black colour, moderate sized darker brown head; aroma and taste of dark chocolate, cofffee, vanilla notes, herbal and walnut liqueur, some bourbon notes and intensive alcohol; just simply amazing!

on tap at hopaholic, budapest, 1000 ft/.1l. pours an opaque black with a dark brown head(!). aroma of coffee, medicine, peat/whisky. flavour of cocoa, bourbon vanilla, burnt wood. oily, petrol-like, full body. extremely nice.

Bottle thanks to George. Pours black with medium tan head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is strong wood, bourbon, vanilla, licorice. Medium body, vanilla, licorice, dark chocolate, tobacco, roast, boozy finish, very good.

Sample at the Hoppin’ Frog Tasting Room. Jet black color with a medium thick tan head that diminishes gradually to a film. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of bourbon, dark chocolate, malt and vanilla. Full-bodied with flavors of oaky bourbon, charred malt, chocolate and vanilla. The finish is boozy with an oaky vanilla and bourbon aftertaste. Very good beer all around.
