What is a bière blanche? A traditional Flemish speciality with barley malt and unmalted wheat, spiced up with coriander and bitter orange rind. Friska is an opalescent, pale yellow coloured beer with a snow-white head. It is an original interpretation of the bière blanche brewed by young Sardinian brewer Nicola Perra who has personalised it by giving it a fuller body.
The result is a well balanced, fresh beer with citrus and spiced notes and the aroma of exotic fruits, but at the same time full and rich on the palate with tarty and citrus notes, making it a very refreshing and thirst quenching beer.
Good as an aperitif, with meals it compliments a gingered risotto, goes very well with boiled white fish served with olive oil and mayonnaise, it can be intriguing with a seafood salad, elegant with vegetable fritters and fancy with fresh herb cheeses.

Bottled. A hazy light yellow beer with a white head. The aroma has notes of lemon and light notes of wheat and a bit of spices. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, wheat, straw, and citrus, leading to a dry wheaty finish.

Bottle 37,5 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Pours yellow with tiny impurities and a small and dissipating white head. Perfumy and chemical aroma. Medium body, heavy carbonation, perfumy - lots of coriander - astringent finish. 190210

Bottled at Enoteca Decanter, Milano. Cloudy straw colour, creamy head. Light lemony nose. Sweetish and creamy, light-medium bodied. Soft with notes of paper and orange. Seemsl like it tries to be both flavourful and refreshing at once, but falls somewhare in between.

330ml bottle @ AL REFETTORIO, Sardinia. Slightly dim, golden body with a thin white head. Surprisingly little sediments. Aroma has a nice but discrete fruitiness with a hint of esters, and spices. Flavor is refreshing with a light hit of fruity acidity. Light malty, some yeast, some citric and pretty dry. Very refreshing, but not exactly weiss or wit, maybe something between a wit, blonde and a lager? Loved this experience after almost one week with mostly boring lagers.

Pale ochre-orange; medium, white head. Wheat & coriander, not too outspoken, bit peppery. Taste is exaggerated coriander, to the exclusion of anything else. Quite outspoken wheat slikness, full bodied, creamy. Quite classic, corander-dominated wit.
