Keg at the place near lake orta. A chestnut brown coloured pour with a lasting sticky greyish head. Aroma is nutty brown malts, liquorice, solvent and some green apple. Flavour is composed of semi sweet earthy nutty malts, tangy apple, hint of charred roasted malts. Some Figgy dried fruits. Palate is medium bodied, quite sweet, airy carbonation. Lingering earthy woody notes.

Bottle. Cloudy dark brown with a tall, fine head. Nose of chocolate, caramel, fudge, raisins, plums, spices. Roasty chocolate flavor, lots of brown sugar. Goes from very sweet to super spicy bitter. Tiingly, spiritzy and light-ish body. Ends very spicy, almost like chili peppers. Decent.

Brown color. Funky yeasty nose with some chocolate notes, but overall lacked balanced, complexity and had some off flavors which weren’t very enjoyable. I just could not finish a glass of this beer.

Draft @ Fiera della Birra di Ferrara, Nov 2013. Grazie Federico for the sample.

Bottle at Birrivico, Como; bb 31.01.2014 12412512, 7.3% ABV
Dark brown color with small head. Strong aroma of sweet caramel. Good body strength, lean mouthfeel; sweet caramel flavor, with something that feels like oxidisation; relatively low bitterness; the alcohol provides a pleasant warmth.
Nice, but uncomplicated.

Bottled@HBF2013. Deep ambery brown colour, small off-white head. Aroma is citrus, alcohol, mild glue and some spices. Flavour is citrus, glue, spices, alcohol and some yeastyness. A bit too much gluelike sweetness, otherwise quite close to a good BSA.

16/05/2012 Open Baladin Roma (tap). Bruna, profonda, impenetrabile, bellissima, con riflessi color mogano, magnifico cappello di schiuma bianca, molto persistente. Al naso note di miele di castagno, frutta secca e lieviti, non molto intenso ma ben equilibrato. In bocca è dolce, malto, caramello, miele, abbastanza ben equilibrata. Corpo medio, carbonazione soft. Discreta, ma niente di eccezionale.
