Tasting at Papsø’s
Red-brown color, nice head. Dusty chocolate aroma, very light coffee. Dry mouthfeel, mild chocolate and coffee flavor; in the end it’s even drier, and quite bitter. Too dry, bad choice; but drinkable.

Bottle from La Cave à Bulles. Dark brown color with a good tan head. Incredibly rich chocolate aroma. Less than medium body with sharpish carbonation. Flavor is real chocolate over darkly roasted malt. There is some sort of zing in it. Coffee, tobacco, something. A peppy porter or a thin stout is more like it. Ran out and got a chocolate cookie. This stuff is really good with a chocolate desert.

Brown-black beer, slight reddish shine; with greige creamy head, quite stable. Chocolate & dark grains, cigar ash in the nose. Again a very tobacco/ashes taste, heavy tobacco flavour and dark chocolage. Not overly bitter however; deep down even some malty sweetness, certainly retronasal. Some saltiness in the finish, and very faint hops. Medium bodied, quite dry. Good brown, stout-like, not very dense, but natural tasting, nice. Merci, MarcusM!
