3 Fonteinen Oude Geuze Cuvée Armand & Gaston is a blend of one-, two-, and three-year old traditional lambics, all brewed at Brouwerij 3 Fonteinen. Spontaneous fermentation, patient maturation in oak barrels, and continued evolution in the bottle result in a distinctively complex beer. No two bottlings are alike, as there are multiple variables in the blending process, a variety of barrel sizes and shapes, differences in aged lambic proportions, etc. This cuvée, like all of our lambic, is 100% natural, authentic, spontaneously fermented, and crafted with steadfast adherence to tradition, like Armand and Gaston Debelder have always done it. This geuze has fermented in the bottle and will continue to develop its tastes and aromas over its long life when properly cellared. Bottled 16.01.2018. amber hazy color, small white head. smells very funky, cellar notes, barnyard, cheesy, earthy, hay, lovely smell. full body, soft carbonation. tastes citric, grassy, funky, earthy, peppery, hay, cheesy. finishes lightly dry and lightly sour with notes of cheese, pepper and funky notes. yeah, this is lovely, still has great potential to age better, probably another year or two would not hurt, but awesome as it is.

375ml bottle [Blend n° 17, 5.3% abv]. Slightly cloudy, amber colour with average, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Tangy, vinous fruity and mildly funky aroma, notes of white grapes, blue grapes, red berries, light tannic and lactic aspects, malty background with a touch of caramel and rock sugar. Taste is dry, mildly tart, vinous fruity, minimally woody, tangy, funky, a predominant mineral strand above, hints of white grapes, blue grapes, berries, malty basis with subtle residual sweetness, oaky interludes. Watery texture, dry and minimally astringent palate, medium, mildly prickly carbonation. Harmonious and balanced, relatively mild, multifacetted - good.

Bottled 21.11.2017. amber hazy color, small white head. smells citric, grassy, earthy, subtle funk, oak, subtle honey. very nice smell. full body, rather subtle carbonation. tastes citric, grassy, earthy, some oak, funk, cheesy notes. finishes rather dry and medium sour with notes of hay, citrus and some honey notes. very nice one, very good balance, rather on the dry side, which is nice in this heat.

Arômes toujours fermiers avec touche florale et légèrement citronnée assortie de poussière d’étable. Liquide doré orangé, très partiellement voilé, développant une mousse assez épaisse et persistante. Les accents fermiers se combinent à une dimension citronnée plus présente que la cuvée régulière. Bel équilibre entre les agrumes et le côté fermier. Tons miellés du malt perceptibles. Un peu plus fruitée que la régulière mais encore là assez unidimensionnelle dans les notes de basse-cour. Pours a hazed, warm amber. Medium large white head. Scent is full, funky, milder mushroom. Complex, full, gentle peaks - but very 'wide' aroma. Taste is full, itnensely tart, lots of fruits. Aplle, lemon, even a tad stonefruits. Funky. Old oak. Tad high carbonation. Lovely batch of A&G .
