Sixer from Total Wine in Dallas on a work trip. Drank a few, took the rest home & lost track. Best by 4/14/25.

Pint glass at home. Clear, dark, russet amber pour with a tall, sticky tan head.
Mellow soot, subtly smokey & mellow sweet chocolate coffee nose.
Taste is chocolate-laced coffee with some dark salty bread, slight calcium edge on the tail.
A twinge too strong but the first two went down really fast.

Good.

On draught at Freakin’ Frog. Brownish-black color with a medium foamy tan head that recedes steadily. Strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee and chocolate. Light-bodied with a roasty coffee and malt flavor with some chocolate in the background. The finish is sweet with a caramel mocha aftertaste. Above average overall.

The Ginger Man, Houston tap: Pours near black with a brownish head. Aroma is chocolate and plenty of coffee, though I was not too impressed by the particular type of coffee. The beer itself was a little sweet, with some light chocolate notes mixed all up in there. Additionally, the body was relatively light.

Bottle at Craig’s 16th Oct 2012
Dark ruby brown, thin tan head around glass
Aroma - dark chocolatey malts, very soft coffee, mocha coffee
Taste - soft coffee, dark caramel malts, soft chocolate, less flavour than I was expecting, but its OK
Palate - medium carb, thinnish body.
Overall - Fairly good coffee porter, found it a bit too mellow though
