With origins dating back to the 1800s, Sleeman Cream Ale is the brew that helped relaunch a brewery. Found on page 64 of the original Sleeman recipe book, it’s made from a variety of imported hops and combines the easy-drinking nature of a lager with the rich fruit character of an ale. You’ll notice a slight aroma of pear or apple in this medium-bodied, well-balanced ale.

355ml can. Pours a clear gold with a thin, fizzy, short lived, white head that leaves spotty lacing. Mild sweet aroma of grainy pale malt, corn and floral hops. Sweet flavour of grainy pale malt, corn and grassy hops in a dry, mild bitter finish. Light body with a watery texture and soft carbonation. Not really getting cream ale here, just another basic macro lager. Pretty boring.

Can from Beers of Europe. Gold with a white head and a lot of fizz. Looks like a macro lager if I’m honest. There’s a brief moment of brightness up front - a little twist of lemon and a bit of vanilla- but it all too quickly descends into fizzy, metallic sweetcorn juice. There’s a tiny hint of grassy hop in the background, but not enough to distract from what is a pretty dreadful beer.

355ml can shared with jeevan, cheers (I think!) Pours clear gold, thin white head. Grain and metal aromas. Taste is lager-like, more metal, astringent finish. Not great.

Can from Marche 54. A pale cream with a big fluffy head of foam that leaves great lacing. Cream and light biscuit and fruity sweet. The beer has a medium body and a malty  sweet flavor with some cream soda notes. A solid light beer.

Canette 355ml. Couleur jaune paille translucide, mousse blanche fuyante. Arôme de céréales, herbal. Goût de céréales, maïs?, herbal léger. Carbonatation moyenne, corps moyen-faible.

Funny how I always seem to not bother to rate with meh to crappy beers. But with this I’ll try to fix that. Pours golden with white head that dissipates rather quickly. Smells of malts and grains. Tastes of malts, a little bitterness, not a lot else. It’s beer, and you could drink it by the bucket, but really why would you want to. Rating: Meh.

Dziwne piwo. spotkałem się pierwszy raz z tym gatunkiem. dziwna mieszanka piwa ale z lagerem, a więc dolna fermentacja miesza się z górną. Niezbyt mi pasuje aż tak drastyczne połączenie.
