Draught from Ginger Man....pours jet black, nice malts and chocolate aroma, good hops kick. greatly done

Good black pour, big beige head. Huge aroma of smoke, and peat. Burnt malts, and loads of espresso. The hops dont come out much until the finish. The finish is very green, big notes of pine, and highly bitter. Nice beer.

Bottle pours out black topped with a brown head. Nose is dark chocolate ashtray coffee some pit fruit. Taste is more of the rich malts roast coffee chocolate and some black licorice.

Bottle split at Chris & Ruth’s pre GBBF Shindig, 07/08/16. Black with a well appointed tan head. Nose is dark fruits, chocolate cake, light spice, charr. Taste comprises light smoke, toffee, earthy, molasses, roast malt, cocoa powder. Medium + body, fine carbonation, light warming alcohol in the close. Decent enough Impy.

Bottle shared at the chriso and Ruth pre GBBF Shindig 2016 - London. Day 1. Pours oily black with a creamy tan head. Harsh charred malts in the aroma, baking cocoa. Medium sweet flavour with notes of ashy roast, chocolate. Full bodied, chewy and oily, with fine carbonation. Warming finish with lots of bittersweet chocolate and scorched earth. A nice, hearty, full-on impy stout.

Bottle shared at the pre GBBF chriso’s tasting day 1 06/08/2016. Many thanks to Chriso for this one. An opaque black dark brown coloured pour with a a fading dark tan head. Aroma is earthy roasted grains, grapey fruits, apricot, liquorice. Flavour is is sweet bitter black malts, liquorice, jammy fruit, raspberry. Palate is sticky sweet, sugars, moderate carbonation. Nice.

Sampled @ ChrisO Pre-GBBF Shindig. Opaque pitch black color, average sized beige head. Aroma is malts, dark malts, liquorice, liquorice. Taste malts, roasted malts, liquorice, bitter. Oily texture, medium to full body and medium carbonation. Very nice.

Bottle at Chris and Ruth’s pre-GBBF Shindig, 2016 (Sunday sesh.)- scavenged leftovers from the Saturday session. Dark brown pour. Raisin, nuts, sweet spice and smoke aroma. Flavours of raisins, chocolate, licorice toffee and caramel. Tasty.
