Marketed as a New Zealand pale ale because of the use of New Zealand hops, but stylistically I would argue this fits the American pale ale category nonetheless. Creamy white, firm head, colour a warm and deep, misty amber; aroma of dried fruits, honey, citrus peel, resinous hops, spicy yeast; taste subduedly fruity, caramel- and nut-like malt with yeasty spicy tones and a very agreeable, interesting and complex, resinous hoppiness, creating a satisfyingly dry and long finish.

Draught @ Olutravintola Pikkulintu. Rated on 08.04.2011
Aroma is rather fresh and slightly sweet with hops, exotic fruits and some toasted notes. Flavour is sweetish and hoppy with exotic fruits and some ash. Nice, but I do not like the stinging bitterness here.

Draft at ACBF 2011. Pours a lightly hazy, rich gold with a strong, off-white head. Tropical fruit nose, salty hops. Good and balanced flavor, melons and salt, some honey sweetness and malt. Medium bodied with lively and cleansing carbonation. Clean, balanced finish, faintly dry, more tropical fruits, slight stickiness. Really good stuff.

Draught at København Ølfestival 2010
Hazy amber color; creamy head. Very nice hops aroma: the fruits from the Nelson Sauvin, but also a sharp earthy touch, light manure, very light apricot jam (this is a different hop). The mouthfeel is dry, yet quite smooth (high carbonation too), dry toffee flavor, with strong bitterness: mix of mild resins, earthy touch extreme bitterness, extreme dryness, with astringent final. Not only it’s very good, but it would also go very well with food.

Clear amber color, small white head. Aroma is strong mango marmalade sweet. Medium-bodied. Exotic fruityness, grassy hoppyness, some kind of herbal notes. Berryish, fruity and sort of unbalanced.

Bottle at ACBF. The Croocked Moon guys told me this one was with Riwaka hops. Hazy amber beer, big creamy off white head. A small creamy malt base supports nice earthy hops. Some sweeter hop then comes through with subtle peach and mango. Softish semi dry finish. Pretty decent pale ale.

Sampled at ACBF 2011. Gold clear thin white head. Grassy butter aroma. Grassy. Some hops. Too grassy for me. Good hops though.
