500ml bottle, 7.5% ABV, thanks to Skinnyviking. Oily pour revealing a completely dark body under a dense, two finger, beige-brown head. Dark roasted malts to the nose. Flavoured with roasted malts and Christmas spices like cinnamon. A nice malt-accented Yuletide brew (hotel room, Copenhagen 06.11.2010).

Bottle, 7.5%. Good roasted and slightly fruity aroma. Very dark brown colour, seems clear, red shine. Big unstable brown head. The flavour is roasted and slightly sweet. There is some vanilla and spicy, vinous notes, almost tastes barrelled.
Earlier Rating: 11/20/2009 Total Score: 4.1
Draught at EsBF09. Good cinnamon aroma, along with a mild and creamy roasted note. Black colour, seems a little cloudy. The flavour starts off with a distinct cinnamon note. Turns a bit creamy and quite roasted. Hard roasted malts. Has a subtle vanilla note which is very good in combination with the cinnamon.

First ratingAt Copenhagen Beerfestival, on May 8, 2010Black color with red streaks, brown to yellow color, light brown head. Dry, smoke, chocolate scent, tad bit acidic. Oaky, vanilla, fudge ice-cream, caramel, dry taste. Caramel aftertaste. Medium to fizzy mouthfeel.7/4/7/3/14=3.5Rerate50 cl bottle from EuroSpar Læsøgade Frederikshavn. Marked 7.5% ABV. BB date could possibly be 4.11.13? Was on sale for 30 DKR. Bought fairly recently. Sampled on December 29, 2013.Black color, light brown medium sized head. Sweet, caramel, nutty, chocolate scent. Also a bit to the vinous or evident alcohol side, mixed with berries and some spice. Cocoa, red currants (slight bit), chocolate, grainy taste. Grainy, light bitter, cocoa aftertaste. Hints of some darker ripe fruits too. Warming alcohol. Sort of to the thin side mouthfeel, medium low bitterness. Decently aged, though perhaps should’ve been a tad fresher. Happy I picked up the bottle. Nice for the dark and cold season.Scent is close to an 8 but mouthfeel is close to a 2, so leaving original scores.7/4/7/3/14=3.5

On tap at Esbjerg Beerfestival. It pours a next to black body, only a reddish hue lightens it up. A tan head leaves curtains in the glass. Some bourbon-like (or some other booze) notes on the nose, heavily roasted and with good coffee aroma. The flavor has some coconut and vanilla, but only in the background. Sweet, heavily roasted with coffee. Full-bodied, smooth and warming in the mouth. Roasted, bourbon-ish finish. Quite lovely, maybe a bit one-dimensional, and not my idea of a Christmas beer, but I enjoyed it very much. 091023

tap at ølbaren black , smooth brown head. very nice roasted grains and toffee dominated aroma. flavor is strong toffee, roasted grains, christamas spices (browncakes) my rate might be lower than it should be bc i don’t like either browncakes or toffee, so not my kind of beer in that respect.
