Bottle that's been in my in-laws' garage for years. i.e. a BB of19/11/07! Funky aroma with malts and caramel. Light chestnut. Thin white head. Bitter. Boozy. Stewed fruit. Some.burnt caramel and cardboard. Thin. Watery. Fizzy. Long finish. Being so old doesn't seem to have hurt it and I wonder if it would have originally been so boozy. Had almost Barley Wine elements. But on low down still.

Bottled. Deep amber colour with a small beige creamy head, that lasts for quite a while. Aroma is rye, nuts, some toastes notes as well as some mild wooden notes. Flavour is rather similar with some ripe fruitiness to it as well.

Bottle at the ChrisO Holiday Tasting, London - thanks to Chris, probs. Pours clear, red-brown with a fine, white foam head. Brown bread aroma. Light to medium sweet flavor, some leaves, more brown bread. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Moderately sweet finish, still more brown bread, mellow leafy bitterness. Mediocre.

Bottle at ChrisO tasting 30/12/12. Almost clear dark amber brown with a thin off white head that mostly makes a break for the edge. Nose is malts, dark toffee, fruit and a little spice. Taste comprises much the same, dark fruit notes, a little spice, caramel/toffee. Medium bodied with soft carbonation lending towards a bitter finish. Drinkable, middle of the road, file under ............... W !

’Brewery conditioned’ 500ml bottle: best before Mar 2013, poured @ home, into a Uk pint sleeve on 6th Nov 2012. Redwood coloured body, bright and clear: the head didn’t hang around long enough to let me see the colour, the thin collar however was white. The nose was both malty and fruity, as was the taste. Toasted/roasted malty molasses give the beer its semi-sweet flavour, the fruitiness and hop bitterness giving balance and depth to the overall feel. The beer had a treacle note throughout, this blended all the ingrediants and their traits together nicely and ensuring the malts ruled the flavours from start to finish.
