Our classic bourbon barrel-aged Parabola infused with heirloom Ethiopia Misty Valley coffee beans, freshly roasted by our friends and neighbors at Spearhead Coffee. Parabola's notoriously dark, roasted, bourbon-barrel character is perfectly accentuated by the Misty Valley coffee's distinctive blueberry and milk chocolate notes.

8-5-8-5-17 Bottle, no. 05 2022. Pours pitch black, with a big creamy mocha head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malts with bread, liquorice, molasses and coffee, as well as Medium to full body, with soft carbonation. Flavour is dark roasted malts with bread, leather, cocoa nibs and sweet coffee, as well as tannins, vanilla and bourbon barrels. Smooth, balanced and very drinkable.

Bottle picked up from Beer Republic webshop Breda Netherlands and consumed at home Friday 12th January 2024 listening to Afrodeutscha on 6Music after a wonderful winter loop hike today, we started by heading up from Zwieslerwaldhaus to Kleiner & Größer Falkenstein and back via Ruckowitzberg. Pours shark eye black with a rapidly disappearing head, so rapidly that I cannot even tell you what colour it was. Soooo much coffee, however the bourbon almost snubs it out on the nose. Some warmth from the abv. Silky mouthfeel but not as thick as expected. The coffee really is the star here it's a good beer but perhaps not as amazing as I'd hoped.

Dry, roasty and heavy with coffee, espresso, mocha, chocolate, cocoa, bourbon and vanilla, hints of oak and woody notes, some bitterness. A bit harsh but quite complex and tasty.

World class in style. Esters for days, lovely richness that jibes with my style.

Bottle. 2022. Black beer with a light brown head. Bourbon and toffee aroma with light coffee. Coffee and bourbon flavor with toffee, oak, and dark fruit. Medium-plus bodied. Bourbon and coffee linger with light roast and toffee.

2022 vintage at 13.8% from the brewery. Pours dark brn/blk with a slight creamy tan head that persisted. Aroma of bourbon, dark malt and coffee. Definitely full bodied. Flavor is chocolate malt, bourbon and pretty nice coffee. Heat is present but not irritating. Not dry; approaching sticky. Bitter mostly from coffee? Wood notes are detectable. Good stuff.
