A light coloured, moreish ale brewed with the finest Maris Otter Hops and Crystal Malts. A hint of torrified wheat is added producing a satisfying and complex flavour. A fresh dry aftertaste is supported by a fairly hoppy character.

Traditional Scottish Ales Bannockburn.

Old rating - 500ml bottle, 4.2%. 'Bannock Burn Blonde beer' Pours pale golden with a white head. Aromas & tastes of fruits, flora, vegetables & malt. Moderate body. Light bitter finish

Bottle from Gordon and MacPhail, Elgin
Golden yellow, clear, frothy white head that dissipates to thin layer, bit of lacing
Aroma - light pale malts, soft grains, some damp hay, dull nose
Taste - light grain malts, hay, dull bit musty hops
Palate - soft carb, thinnish body, bit oily. Finish as main flavour, bit dry, dull
Overall - Below average golden ale, insipid and dull, doesn’t taste fresh...meh meh meh

50cl bottle from Gordon and MacPhail. Pours golden with gentle bubbles and a nice head, though this disappears fairly quickly. The nose has sweet lemon against a profile which reminds me of breakfast cereal sodden in milk. The taste is similarly dominated by a sweet maltiness. The palate has a light to medium body with a creamy texture in the middle section though I’d like to have experienced more hops on the finish which is a little flabby. Overall, not the worst but not worth revisiting.

Lovely golden-amber colour. Nice head. Quasi-toasty yeast character. earthy, fire-toasted malt. Decent, but not exciting.

Bottle. Creamy white good mostly lasting head. DArk yellow colour. light malty and hoppy aroma. Light bitter slightly smoked (bacon) flavor. Short light bitter finish. Oily palate. I didnt like it.

Bottle from Peckhams. Clear amber colour, medium off-white head. Aroma is caramel malts, some hops. Flavour is caramel malts, bit hoppy, citrus. Slightly bitter and dry finish.

Bottled (From Estate Wine, Holstebro). Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is wood, parfume, fruits and some mild notes of malts. Flavour is fruits, floral hops as well as some mild maltyness.

Bottle 50cl. @ home.Clear medium orange color with a small to average, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is light moderate malty, caramel, toffee, fruity. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration, light caramel, leather - tobaco, fruity. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20091116]
