Bottle from Gordon and MacPhail, Elgin
Golden yellow, clear, frothy white head that dissipates to thin layer, bit of lacing
Aroma - light pale malts, soft grains, some damp hay, dull nose
Taste - light grain malts, hay, dull bit musty hops
Palate - soft carb, thinnish body, bit oily. Finish as main flavour, bit dry, dull
Overall - Below average golden ale, insipid and dull, doesn’t taste fresh...meh meh meh

50cl bottle from Gordon and MacPhail. Pours golden with gentle bubbles and a nice head, though this disappears fairly quickly. The nose has sweet lemon against a profile which reminds me of breakfast cereal sodden in milk. The taste is similarly dominated by a sweet maltiness. The palate has a light to medium body with a creamy texture in the middle section though I’d like to have experienced more hops on the finish which is a little flabby. Overall, not the worst but not worth revisiting.

Lovely golden-amber colour. Nice head. Quasi-toasty yeast character. earthy, fire-toasted malt. Decent, but not exciting.
