A traditional Scottish ale brewed with an emphasis on the malt characteristics. Lightly hopped, as is true to this style of beer, with fruity malt aromas and a toffeeish mouth feel.

Bottle. Pours clear dark amber with stable creamy beige head. Clear aroma of malt and fruit. Pleasant, refreshing mouthfeel. Creamy, malty flavour enriched by a hoppy note towards the end. Dryish aftertaste. A nice one.

Znakomite szkockie ale. Goryczkowe i jeszcze raz goryczkowe. Finisz goryczkowy, wyczuwalny w smaku palony słód, choć w zapachu już nie jest aż tak intensywny. Świetne i pijalne piwo, nie męczy. Można się zadumać nad tradycyjnym ale.

50 cl bottle @ home. Rated on 30.04.2010
Aroma has caramel, toffee, some fruity notes and hints of hay. Flavour is somewhat sweet with toffee, caramel, malty notes, some burned sugar and distant fruity notes. A bit thin palate. Less sweet and better than I expected.

A reddish brown ale with a thin light mocha head. In aroma, a nice nutty malt with light chocolate notes, torrefied, nice. In mouth, a rather watery nutty malt, thin and tired, light metallic notes, grassy. Tasted with GRM, Probstblueribbon and Ian, July 20 2012.

Chelmsford Winter Fest. Clear brown beer. Light dry palate. Sweetish malt. Not much else going on here but inoffensive!

A lighter beer than I was expecting for it’s colour, the aroma and taste are both fairly mild, although the taste does linger. Head reduces to a filmy froth on top. I don’t find that it tastes of enough to think I’d want to drink much of it in one sitting but nor is it strong enough that it’d be nice to have a couple slowly. Pleasant enough but not particularly notable.
