500ml bottle from Westholme Stores, Goring. - ABV 4.4% Pitch black with a thin tan head, tawny brown when held to the light. Malted milk aroma; smooth, dense and oily in the mouth with more malted milk and a little bitter chocolate; then a roasted coffee finish. An excellent mild.

[Cask at GBBF 2005] A red-brown beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is slightly sour with notes of roasted malt and chocolate. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of roasted malt and chocolate as well as hints of prunes, but also hints of sourness. The body is thin.
