Bottle from the Co-operative.
Appearance - amber and clear with a fluffy off-white head.
Nose - caramel & syrup. Some brown bread.
Taste - more syrup and brown bread at the back.
Palate - light to medium bodied, sweet middle and finish.
Overall - I would not call this a Bitter as it lacks bitterness.

Can from a Coop supermarket. Pours golden with a bubbly white head. Aroma of light caramel, hop, malt, and light fruit. Medium plus sweetness, light bitterness, touch of sour. Light to medium body, water and slight oily texture, average carbonation. Finish is sweeter and quite gassy. Obviously wasn’t a great beer, but gets another ’brewer’ tick and was actually more drinkable than had been expected.

440ml can from local Scotmid. Pours clear copper, thick white head. Light malt and metal aromas. Light fruits on the taste. Thin, sweet, not great.

Can from Co-op. Lower strength version of their own best bitter brand, reduced from 4.1% and certainly no better for it. Bland and boring. Clear copper-brown coloured with a small carbonation and no head. Small sweet aroma.

Can from Penzance store. Pours clear copper with a foamy white head. Aroma of fruit and old tobacco. It is fruity, moderate caramel, and a hint of earth or old leather. Drinks ok. Just has something unusual. Finishes bitter.

440ml can from my local Co-Op. Mid-brown in colour with a loose cream head; roasted malt aroma; dry, roasted malt flavour; and a light bitterness to finish. This won’t set the world on fire, but it’s very drinkable. --- Beer merged from original tick of Best Bitter (2.8% ABV) on 18 Apr 2017 at 05:08 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 5 | Flavor - 6 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 5. Original review text: 44cl can from Co-Op, Long Eaton. A bright golden amber pour with heavy carbonation and a loose creamy coloured head; caramel aroma; malty taste, wuite lively in the mouth; with a leafy bitterness and a caramel finish. Reminds me of a Light Ale. Not bad for the price and ABV.

Can (BB 06/2010). Dark nut brown, small off-white head. Caramel and some saccarine in the nose. Flavor is cardboardish with some caramel and syrup. Light nutty hops. Feels very cheap.
