Cask 1/3 pint at the 46th Cambridge Beer Festival, 2019. ABV 3.8%. Dark reddish brown colour, beige head. Smooth roasty aroma and flavour, okay, but a bit one-dimensional.

Cask @ Elm Tree, Cambridge. Nice head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are sour malt, caramel, fruits and hops. Sour finish. Beer gone bad I think.

Cask at the Pheasant, Wellington. Pours black with a red hue and a off white head. Aroma isn’t much, a little roasted malt. Taste is roasted malt, chocolate and a hint of treacle. Nice carbonation and a nice looking pint. Not a bad mild but not enough flavour in there for me

Cask at the Elm Tree, Cambridge. As dark mild. Pours very dark brown with a lasting tan colour head. Aroma is very peaty, smoked, roasted malt, chocolate. Medium sweetness, dry roasted bitterness. Medium bodied, thick texture. Getting past the initial smoke/peat this was very drinkable.

Cask at the Elm Tree, Cambridge. Dark brown, translucent, quite flat. Chocolate, parsley, cedar aroma. Confused. Bittersweet taste. with a slight balancing sour note. Very weak palette. Herby bittersweet finish and aftertaste. Disappointing.

Cask at the Harp. Dark brown pour with a modest, off-white head. Strong roasted malt character in the nose. Flavor is lightly sweet with lots of dry, roasty malts. Light bodied with fine carbonation. In the finish some leafy bitterness and ash, mild sugar. Good stuff.
