Marquis is a classic English session bitter.
This is the style of beer that has become the staple of British pubs and culture and Marquis makes an excellent permanent house beer.
Easy drinking and sessionable, this is a well balanced beer with subtle character to keep interest through several pints.
A light copper hue with a bitterness of 28 IBU. English hops, Fuggles and Bramling Cross hops are nicely balanced against roasted crystal malts. Fuggles imparts a hint spiciness and Bramling Cross a touch of berry fruit. The hops set together with the sweet malt grist a light raisin flavour.

Cask at The Hopbine, Cambridge, Monday 5th September 2016 Pours light amber in colour, fruity with a light bitter bite, a little dry at the back end, itโs a decent bitter, rustic UK hoppiness. Like the Tring Tea Kettle itโs in very good nick. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4

Handpull cask at the Jolly Brewer, Stamford. Light, almost honey brown. Small uneven ring of off-white head. Some red berry on the muted yet enticing smell. Taste is a messy malt bomb: bittersweet, grainy and slightly stale. More bitterness in the finish. Not all that keen.
