Imagine a beautifully polished piece of Amber and, funnily enough, that is what you’ll get when you order a pint of Amber. Wafts of citrus fruit and spice will entice you to drink. The Cara malt and carefully selected hops in Amber create a balanced, slightly bitter flavour with those fruity, spicy aromas following through to the tastebuds. You might even detect a hint of ginger in there somewhere.

Fra cask på Cornish Inn, Gunnislake 26 Sep 16. Aprikosfarget. Litt uklar. Lavt kritthvitt skum. Svak aroma. Antydning til karamell. Smaken det samme. Bittersøt etter hvert.

Half pint, cask ale at Cornish Inn in Gunnislake. Amber-gold coloured body. Filmy layer, poor lacing. Toffee and grass on the nose. Caramel malty flavours with citric notes, lightly spiced. Bittersweet endnotes. Easy going. Very standard stuff (Tamar Valley Rail Ale Trail, 26.09.2016).

Tried at the Tap and Spile, Lincoln. Golden to amber colour with an off white head. Not so much an amber as a caramely golden beer with a touch of citrus.

Cask half-pint in The Bloomfield Brewhouse, Blackpool on 8th Sep 2016. Guess what colour it was: yip, amber. Fruity and slightly citrusy in the nose, more fruits in the taste and a mild bitterness in the finish, light spicy undertones. Liked it.
