Cask@GBBF 2009. Dark ruby, almost opaque color, small beige head. Coffee beans in the nose. Coffee and burned malts (color malts) in the flavor. Quite long roasted aftertaste. Pleasant light stout.

(Cask at Wenlock Arms, London, 8 Aug 2008) Black colour with frothy, pale brown head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of strong black coffee and dark chocolate. Malty, roasted taste with black coffee, cocoa, wild berries, prunes and raisin. Fairly bitter finish with cocoa and coffee. Complex and lots of taste. More character than the 4% abv would suggest. Very nice one.

500 ml bottle, at The 78, Glasgow. Organic, bottle conditioned. ABV is 4.0%. Drank it a bit too cold. Black colour, moderate head. Very nice aroma, roasty with notes of cigarbox. Roasty and malty flavour. Quite decent.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours completely black and opaque with a rough, beige head. Burned and oddly herbal aroma. Very thin and watery with unclean, burned accents. No real bitterness. This has a feel of cabbage or vegetable soup to it - yuck! 100507

Bottle at papsoes place, I think chris_o brought this one, so thanks to whoever it was. It poured jet black, with a small, beige to tan head. Coffee and burnt malt on both nose and in the mouth. There’s a bonfire sourness as well, in the mouth. Thin body, but then again it is only 4% ABV. The body makes it easy to drink, but boring. The finish is mostly coffee. It would probably go well as a session beer, but it is too one-dimentional and boring. (070510)

An opaque brown beer with a beutiful brown head. The aroma is very roasted malty with notes of chocolate, coffe, acid, and prunes. The flavor is a little sour, but with notes of loads of coffee as well as roasted malt, chocolate, and a dry hoppy end. But the body is somewhat thin.
