Pour Hop Sun Summer Wheat Beer into a pint glass, give it a long whiff and you’ll realize that this isn’t your average wheat beer. Filtered to a golden clarity and dry-hopped to perfection, Hop Sun is a fantastic session ale in which flavors of wheat, barley and hops co-mingle to a refreshing and zesty conclusion. Hints of lemon and sweet malts waft to the fore as a touch of bitterness contributes to Hop Sun’s bright finish. Enjoy Hop Sun all summer long as a perfect balance to your outdoor recreation. Summer never tasted so good.

Lovely hoppy beer. Colour could use a bit too yellow for me. Smells lovely, great to drink. Pretty low on alcohol, but still a decent mouthfeel. Very well done for a 5,1% beer.

Purchased at Archer Liquors in Chicago, IL; enjoyed on a cold late April early evening before sleeping in tomorrow on my day off and eating hot dogs. This is a nice one. Appearance clear gold with a thin white head. Aroma of crisp malts, a bit of lemon and maybe a small hint of honey, not too faint but not overtly noticeable. Taste also crisp, very much akin to 312 (the Goose Island brew), nice easy drinker in these spring/summer months that remind me of the season.

Draught at Ølbaren, Copenhagen
Blond color. The hop aroma is fresh, fruity, with vanilla cookies. Soft body, dry mouthfeel, not much wheat flavor (but also not much barley), but a nice and refreshing hopping. It’s summer!

Crystal clear yellow, small white head, medium to high carbonation. Budweiser clear yellow. Piney Hops in the aroma. Taste is a combination of wheat and hops with a refreshing, crisp finish that leaves little to no bitterness. A nice, easy drinking summer beer, but nothing you have to seek out. Would drink again depending on selection.

Pours deep gold with thin white head. The aroma is full with tart grapefruit, floral hops, spicy hops, a touch of lime and then mild malts and graininess well off in the background. The taste has a modest hoppiness to it with some grapefruit, floral, spiciness and becoming a touch lime by midway. Like the aroma the mild maltiness is way off in the background providing a slender amount of balance to this modestly hoppy brew.

Bottle from Half Time. Pours orange tinged gold with a frothy white head. Aroma is a combo of bready and floral. Near medium body with sharp carbonation. Flavor is wierdly sweet malt with some citrus and floral. It’s definitely quite hoppy. Somewhat like drinking perfume. Finish has a touch of paper, but the hop pretty much covers everything. And it’s nice, pleasant hop. Can’t remember such a good wheat beer. Like it’s recognizable as ale. Good stuff.

Medium offwhite head. Yellow body. Caramelly strong resiny aroma with floral notes. Lovely depth and clarity. Dry-sweet strawy milky caramel taste with floral notes. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Light body. Delicate and harmonic. Dry citric strawy resiny aftertaste with raisiny notes. Excellent, and highly drinkable. Wonderful session beer. (0.355l bottle from somewhere in .dk.)

(Bottle, Monk’s Café Wallingatan, Stockholm) Golden colour with huge, foamy, white head. Fruity nose with notes of citrus, apricots, lemon peel and fresh floral hops. Fruity taste with citrus, apricots and floral hops in the finish. Rather light body, with just a touch of sweetness. Not very complex, but a refreshing and summery wheat beer with a fresh hop character.
