Hazy burgundy colour with orange highlights and a super-thin off-white head. Aroma of malt, cardboard, raspberries (of course) and cherries. Light-bodied; Mild, raspberry taste with no malt character at all. No hops, no sweetness and a plain fruit taste. Aftertaste is just as bland-nothing roaming. Overall, a bad fruit beer-but aren’t they all? Not recommended-try Titan IPA instead! I sampled this 12 ounce bottle purchased at Total Wine in McLean, Virginia on 09-October-2004 on the Eastern Shore of Virginia with my good friend Jon[R888710].

Nice raspberry aroma disguises the lack of taste. What is there is sour wheat with barely detectable raspberry. Looks like cranberry juice. Light and easy to drink. Lienie’s berryweiss is better. Somewhat refreshing.

2003 bottle. Lovely light violet-magenta/pink color. VERY clear; filtered to all hell. Little head, moderately bubbly. Smells like pounds of wet, crushed raspberries. Very fresh. Flavor is light raspberry and at first it comes in a bit bitter and almost begins a crescendo, but the it dies a horrible watery death and I am left wondering. . is this beer I am drinking?? Try Bell's Raspberry instead. This needs more malt (it has none), and somehow needs to get some body, this is about as extra light as it gets. Didnt bother finishing.

Paid $1.09 for a 12-oz single. Very nice raspberry colored brew (gee, rasperry colored for a raspberry beer?), with a nice sized, pink head. Smells like real raspberries, rather than some sort of cheap extract they added later- top of the line in the fruit beer smells!! Very nice light raspberry taste- not overwhelming like some fruit beers can be, but not so weak that you wonder how they can call this a fruit beer. This is definitely a nice fruit beer- not a big fan of them myself- but this stands up higher than most I have sampled.

(draught) Great deep-red, nearly purple colour; little pinkish head. Raspberry jam nose, quite concentrated but not overpowering. Taste of raspberries and (pale) malts - as raspberry jam on white bread. Sweet in the finish but not sticky or cloying. Medium bodied. Good, interesting but not really great.

Really not bad for a fruit beer, but I don't think it is inherently possible to make a great fruit beer. Pours an appropriate color - dark amber/raspberry red. The raspberry aroma is killer, but doesn't really translate to the flavor. I can see having just one of these on the porch in the summer. Beyond that, it's pretty much a novelty drink.
