XXXX IPA is a non-traditional American IPA with a brilliant copper color and the classic citrus nose of Cascade Hops. It demonstrates a unique balance between malt-inspired, red grapefruit sweetness and lingering hop dryness.

Dark copper pour, big foamy, sticky head. Pine hop aroma, quite a bit of alcohol, and some big chewy, caramel malts. This is another big american double ipa that has entered barley wine territory. The huge amount of bready, boozy, sweet, caramel malts really mellow the soapy pine hops. A nice sipper, but a barley wine in my books.

Tap at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours red copper, with limited white foam. Aroma is intensely piney/resinous, caramel. Body is rather dense, with average carbonation. Taste is a mix of marked bitterness sustained by a robust dose of malty sweetness. Final is still intense and highly aromatic.

I appreciate it, but it’s a bit hoppy for my tastes.

Pours a straw from a bottle. Big pine/tropical notes in the nose follow into the mouth. Rather sweet. Good beer.

0.33 l bottle from Pivoteka Zagreb. Pours hazy amber with a small frothy off white head. Syrup and malts aroma, along with fruity hops, dried fruits. More like a Belgian ale :) Light bitter start, medium body, drinkable. Suddenly, earthy hoppy aroma. Some licorice or candy, maybe even bubblegum. Warm sweet hoppy finish, light lingering bitterness. Very interesting.

Keg at Spacebar, 4/6/15. Clear golden, thin fizzy off-white head, poor retention. Aroma of floral and mild piney hops. The taste is resin, melon hops, pale malt. Medium bodied, mild lingering bitterness.
