I got this 12 oz. bottle from a beer club along with three other selections. Pale ales typically do not thrill me and that carries over here. It has a decent pour, a medium yellow liquid and a glorious, strong, bright white head. The smell is grain, dough and a metallic tone. The taste, well, still grainy and some kind of astringency. You try a new beer and sometimes it works and other times it does not.

Pours an amber from a bottle, thick white head. Aroma of caramel malt. Not much going on here, except unlike many pale ales the overall mouthfeel is well-balanced. However, little hoppiness, and an over-reliance on caramel malt. Meh.

Pours orange. Aroma has some hops and malt. Average carbonation. Aftertaste has some bitterness, too much cloying sourness. On tap at St Johns tap room in Virgin Islands.

It poured a light copper slightly cloudy color with a medium head that quickly dissipated leaving about an average lace around the glass. The smell had some floral scents with hints of caramel and hops. The taste was slightly malty and sweet with brown sugar and caramel, and had a slightly bitter hoppy finish. It had a light body with a high carbonation. A good ol’ APA that was pretty drinkable. Overall, decent for the style and good for me.

35,5 cl bottle @ Olutravintola Esplanadi, BB 09/2012
Aroma feels very english with lots of toffee hops and some caramel. Flavour has English toffee, grassy hops and caramel. Woody and nutty finish. Decent, and faithful to the style.

(Bottle, 0.355 l - BBE Sep 2012, at Pikkulintu, 20120908) The beer poured amber and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had sweetness, cardboard and malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were sweetness, grass, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet and bitter. The age had done its damage but I doubt this beer would be much better if it were fresher.

Nice moustache. Strong old winey palate. Slight fruit aroma. Feels like much more than 4.8% and I usually like lower alky beers. Fairly good co2 sizzle. Ropey. Metallic hints. Bitterness sets in as session continues. Takes a few to get used to.

Slightly hazy amber beer. Toffee on the nose. Light crispy palate. Toffee malt, crisp. Just a little hop fruit and bitterness coming through before the dry finish. Not bad.
