Cityfresh Supermarket, Bushwick growler: Pours light orange with a white head. Aroma is dusty, slightly farmy yeast, with a whole bunch of fruitiness and light hops. Taste is lighter on the saison than is the aroma. Still nice and fruity, with a little dusty dry note in there. Alcohol well covered. Feels like you are drinking a 5% alcohol beer. Well done.

A little light on the saison vibe. Pours golden clear. Aroma of booze and some florals though influence is light. Average carbonation, consistency. Taste alittle astringent. Sours after a few breaths. Tap at Coles during some 18 year old Mardi Gras party.

Cask at GBBF. Hazy gold beer. Softish palate. Fruity saison flavours. Dry and a little spicy. Refreshing and light for it’s abv. Good stuff.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 11/8/11

Aroma: The nose is fruity and a little funky, some orange, other fruit, caramel, pepper, and yeast
Appearance: It pours an unclear, bright orange color with a small white head and light lacing
Flavor: The taste is mostly a mix of fruity sweetness and yeast that brings some funk and spice
Palate: The body of this beer is light-medium, the carbonation is soft, and the feel is fairly clean
Overall Impression: There isn't a ton to say about this one, it is a pretty solid Saison. I liked it. It's a good beer.

2010 Vintage. Pours a deep golden color with a decent sized white head that laces all the way down. Smell is fruity, herbal, and spicy. Pears and green apples, honey and bread, pepper and spicy yeast are all found in the nose. Taste is sweet and fruity up front. I get some honey like malt sweetness mixed with bits of pear and maybe peach. She turns spicy in the middle with an herbal earthy peppery bite that then hits with some warming alcohol. Moderately dry finish with a lingering fruity sweetness. Medium body with a healthy level of carbonation and a slick sweetish mouthfeel. I enjoyed this beer, but then again I usually enjoy Smuttynose beers. I think this beer has definitely benefited from the age as I usually find the big beer series a little hot fresh. Great brew.

22 ounce bottle into tulip, 2010 vintage. Pours clear golden amber color with a 1 finger dense white head with great retention that reduces to a thin lacing cap. Decent lacing on the glass as well. Aromas of spice, pepper, apple, grape, lemon, grass, and a small bit of funkiness and leather. Great aromas here, very interesting as well. Taste of big lemon, pepper, grape, and apple; with big spiciness on the finish with small bit of tartness and booze in the back. Some lingering notes of fruits and spices after the finish. Medium-full bodied with medium carbonation. A small bit of noticeable alcohol on the taste, but it smoothed out as it got a lot warmer. Fairly large alcohol warming ofter the finish. Overall an excellent saison, big on flavor, and great balance.
