Abhängig vom Rauchmalz lassen sich mehr oder weniger intensive Noten ins Bier bringen. Wurde beispielsweise mit Eichenrauch geräuchert, ist die Note wesentlich intensiver als bei Buchenrauch.
Liebhaber von torfig-rauchigen Whiskys werden begeistert sein, denn das Rauchbier kann geschmacklich zum Whisky der perfekte Begleiter sein.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein leicht trübes dunkelgoldenes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch angenehm rauchig, malzig, Karamell. Geschmack leicht rauchig säuerlich, röstmalzig, würzig.

Bottle. Tart smoke, light animalistic aroma. Cloudy orange, low head. Straw, leather, barn entry, full hayish malt, light apples, pears, well balanced peatyness. Mellow chewy body, sparkly on the tongue. Salty and fruity moreish finish. Nice.

Draught @ the brewery. Pours clear golden with stable white head. Clear aroma of hops with malty notes and a smoky touch. Clear, smoky flavour with bitter, hoppy notes, fishlike overtones and a subtle touch of malt. Bitter aftertaste. Low carbonation. OK but more interesting than delicious.

Bottle looks really good. Beer in the glass fine golden, huge head. Smokey aroma. Starts intense malty, burnt-smokey, also quite sourish. Not really well balanced. Finish drier, still quite sourish, some bacon notes. Okay, but not more.

Bottle at Berlin Craft 2013. Aroma is smoked ham, light golden orange colour. Flavour starts off light, a little fruit, a little smoke. Builds to a strong cigar finish.

500ml bottle. Cloudy golden colour with average, frothy, fairly lasting, white head. Intense smokey aroma with typical touch of ham. Taste is minimally sourish, relatively light smokey, more like smoked trout or bockwurst / frankfurter. Not as balanced as the nose promised.

Post Borefts I Invasion of Fonefan and Charlottes room tasting! Hazy gold beer. Light malt. A light and thus pleasant amount of smoke. Finishes crisp and semi dry.

Milder getreidig-räucherartiger Antrunk, dezent süß. Sanfter Mittelteil mit vorwiegenden Getreidenoten, sehr leicht süß, süffig. Das Bier bleibt im Mittelteil auf dem Niveau und verändert sich nicht, auch im Abgang bleibt das Bier gleich. Trinkbares Rauchbier ohne Besonderheiten. 8/8/9/9/11/9

Bottle at Borefts 10am day after hotel tasting after a very bad drunk Borefts festival ... amber ... fishy smokey nose .. sikly smokey ... buttery
