A dark, full flavored English porter with Scottish heather honey. Samuel Adams® Honey Porter is a full-flavored, full-bodied English porter with a substantial roasted malt character, offering a smooth, rounded finish. This beer is brewed with traditional English Ale hops and is dry-hopped with East Kent Goldings, known for their spicy aroma and distinctive, earthy flavor. We brew Honey Porter with Scottish heather honey which balances the spiciness of the hops.
This brew is the perfect complement to glazed ham, spicy chili, and roasted vegetables like beets and carrots, which bring out the herbal notes found in the hops and the sweetness of the honey. Samuel Adams® Honey Porter also pairs well with rich desserts such as baklava and molasses cookies.

Bottle. I was very disappointed. Nice color but thats where it ends. Smell, not much. Taste, again, not much. Overall, skip it. There are much better porters out there.

Notes from January 2011 A couple bottles of this was left around after the holidays. The SA Brewmaster's Collection around Queens never seems to have the porter when I'm looking. BB December notch. DFH pint glass. Absurdly cold. Grade B maple syrup with cola highlights. Rigid couple inches of tan head(The beer sways, but it does not). Smells like baklava with a dash of cocoa. Cheerios & a bit of brown sugar. Or maybe just malted milk with a spot of coffee. Taste is just brown sugar added to a mild roast. It is not robust. A bit of iron-y bitter greens trail on the finish & that's about it. As it warms, the honey comes forth more, but the beer develops a citric bite that I could do without. Solid, foamy carbonation, maybe even creamy, but a bit thin for a porter. The alcohol melds well. Pretty pedestrian, even for Sam Adams.

This pours from 12oz bottle a deep amber-brown with a large head of foam that recedes slowly and it has some nice lacing. Hmm....that's a characteristic of a lot of their beers. ;^)
The smell is of sweet malt, roasted malt, and chocolate.
The taste is, for me, very rich in chocolate on my first sip. wow. After another sip, I notice the honey and it goes well with this Porter, and there's some roasted notes along with some bitterness that's most noticeable near and through the finish. Very tasty brew and it has a good thickish mouthfeel and light carbonation. Again I say, this is very tasty *and* smooth. I'd buy this again, oh yeah.

Rated from old notes. Pours ruby red into the glass. Medium bodied, sweet, although with no definite honey taste. Mild, malty aroma. Decent.

Old rating. Bottle from Old Town. Aromas of honey, roasted malt and grains with a hint of chocolate. Sweet on the palate with a slightly bitter dry finish. Not a fan of the honey action.

Smak och doft av malt, humle, honung. Rostad och brödig känsla. Rund och len. Lagom söt med trevlig beska.
