One of the Moosehead "Clancy's" line of "Craft" beers. A decent amber, with a malty nose and well balanced flavor.

341 ml Bottle: BBD of 31 Jul 2013. I found it in Berlin and drank it in my hotel room out of a tumbler on 25 Feb 2013. Amber body with a good, full head of white bubbles. Nose and taste dominated my malty molasses: not overly strong, but the hops struggled to contain the sweetness. Caramel being the main flavour I detected. A bit too sweet and thin for a 5% ABV brew: OK but not really balanced or well made in my eyes.

Nawet smaczne Amber ale. Piwo koloru bursztyna, z trwałą pianą i wyraźnie zaznaczoną goryczką. Piwo wspaniale się komponuje z potrawami z indyka. Zapach kwiatowo-karmelowy.

Bottle. Pours clear amber with airy white head. Sweet aroma of malt and caramel. Barely discernible flavour of malt. Otherwise it tastes of nothing at all. Unpleasant, misplaced, dry aftertaste. It is my first Camadian beer to be rated. I sincerely hope something better will follow.

Originally rated February 2006. Part of the craft beers from Moosehead, this one pours a dark amber colour with a good creamy head. Dissipates fast, but leaves great lacing. Carbonation is light with tiny bubbles, but consistent. The nose is real bitter and strong, like some alcohol and with notes of malt. Hints of coffee are definitely present with a very mild and watery mouthfeel and aftertaste. Decent dryness, with touches of smoke, apples and caramel. Good attempt at a craft beer, but way to watered down to succeed. Thanks to Plug for this one.
