a west coat-style India pale ale aged on local beets and dry-hopped with mosaic and strata

Mashed with local two row barley malt along with a pinch of flaked rye and a dash of dextrin malt for a boosted bod. Fermented with our preferred house ale yeast for a decidedly dry and incredibly quenchable finish. Hopped intensely in the whirlpool and the fermenter with an aromatic blend of amarillo, mosaic and strata. Conditioned on local, dark red beets, for an earthy profile and saturated deep red color. With a vibrant pink glowing head, the presentation of BRL is truly stunning. Boasting hues more commonly associated with dragon fruit or prickly pear vibes, this beer is a striking example of the beautiful beet.
A decade ago, back in 2015, we snagged a gold medal at the Great American Beer Festival for a saison saturated with blood red beets. Named after the iconic fourth studio record from A Tribe Called Quest, Beets, Rhymes and Life, came to define our small and budding brewery.
In more recent years, with waning consumer interest in “clean” saison, we found ourselves producing BRL less and less until eventually not at all.
With not wanting to let such an incredible name and impeccable branding fade away, we proudly present our “new and improved” version of our classic, Beets, Rhymes and Life.
