Fles 33cl bij Gasthof zur Peif in Idstein. Zoet, karton, sagarine, grainy, fruitig, lichte bittertonen, maltig. (9-9-2024).

Yellow, clear pour with a decent white head. Malty nose, aromas of malt, herbs, hops, hint of lemon. Not bad for an AF.

Gold with a frothy white head. Not much of an aroma—mixed grains, grassy, faint rubber. Taste is crisply bitter on a palate that is actually halfway chewy, unlike the watery messes common to the style. Also dodges the usual sweet mess that comes at the finish with most beers in this style. Easygoing. Drinkable. Refreshing. One of the best alcohol-free beers I’ve tried. A 3.0 compared to most beers, but compared the style, a 4+.

Alcohol-free version of their Pilsener, with thick and creamy, snow white, stable head and pale straw blonde colour, clear and sparkling. Dusty, sweaty and grainy aroma, sourish, flowery hops, not at all inviting. Harsh and thin grainy taste, sourish with vague sweetishness, (too) strong carbonation and a bit wry, bitterish finish. Unpleasant even for this style.
