Bottle picked up from Edeka Getrankemarkt Tittling and consumed at home Sunday 10th September 2023 listening to Fred Again - Actual Life 3. Fred Again were one of the Mercury Music Prize nominees last Thursday with this album. We've done a 14-15km hike up Großer Rachel today, it was hard work but enjoyable. We had Hunter's Chicken for tea tonight, it was great. Okay onto the beer, it pours copper, actually no, it's more of a reddish brown beer, clear appearance, there is a swiftly departing beige head. Malty nose, caramel and toffee mostly. Initially quite sweet but this subsides, there is a little burnt bitterness, drinks well for the abv but I've had two of these this weekend and as pleasant as they are, nothing really stands out for me.

Bottle. Ratebeer rating no. 4200. Color: Ruby to copper, very thin beige head. Aroma: Dark fruit, caramel, malty. Taste: Dark fruit, raisins, caramel, dark malt. Hoppy backbone. Slightly boozy. Sugary / sirupy hints. Over medium body, below average carbonation. Over moderate to medium sweet, light bitterness. Boozy hints. Nice Doppelbock.

Bottle bought in Cham. Grainy fruity beginning. Malt and caramel, nice sweetness with hints of brown sugar, caramel and a nice creamy bitterness in the end. Nice.

Mein erster Doppelbock dieser Saison: Hutthurmer Kulinator, Fläschchen von Lautscham, Bodenmais. - Kupferrotbraun, klar. - In der Nase bocktypisch schweres dunkel-toastiges Malz, Bitterkakao, Rosinen und Weinbrand, aufgelockert durch frische, kernig krautige Hopfenherbe, gar nicht dumpf. - Antrunk schwer und fett dunkel- und Wiener-malzig mit gebranntem Karamel, frischer aber etwas derber krautiger Hopfenherbe, ein wenig Pampelmuse, Holz. Rübensirup, aber gedämpfte Süße. Milder rezent, mastig, gut kaschierter Alkohol. Im Abgang frisch krautige Bittere. - Ein wenig unrunder Doppelbock, dessen kontrastierende Aromen noch nicht ganz zueinander gefunden haben. Hätte vielleicht noch ein paar Wochen reifen müssen. Dunkler Doppelbock mit 18 % Stammwürze und 7,0 % Alk. Unpraktische 0,33 l Flasche. Geruch malzig und ungewöhnlich frisch. Und das schlägt auch beim Geschmack durch. Lecker süffig. Nicht zu malzig süß, nicht zu alkoholig, angenehm bittere, hopfige Note. Blindverkostet würde ich nicht sofort auf ein dunkles Bier tippen. Wenn man mal einen Abend zum Starkbiertrinken geht, ist der Kulinator eine sehr gute Wahl, weil man sich daran nicht so schnell abtrinkt. Allerdings bei 7 % Alk hat das natürlich Folgen. Ganz toller Doppelbock.

33cl bottle. A clear dark reddish brown beer with a beige head. Aroma of dark heavy sweet malt, melasse, caramel syrup. Taste of sweet and strong dark caramelized malt, melasse, syrup, sugar. Good!

Bottle @ Pivni Rozmanitost, Prague. Pours dark ruby amber with a small white head. Lots of dark fruit, caramel, whiff of tobacco , alcohol and bread. Smooth and full bodied.

Small beige head over deep red-ruby beer. Sweet, chestnut, marzipan, dark bread, autumn leaves. Sweet, faint point of saltiness, hints at oxidation, bready and leafy. Alcohol, with a huge restsugarcontent, reinforcing each other. Alcoholwarming, quite slick and a bit sticky. Typical Doppelbock, bit oxydized sample, but still perfectly OK. Thanks to Stef!

Bottled at La 100 de Beri, Bucharest, Romania. Clear mahogany colour, small head. Roasty raisiny aroma. Quite sweet with near full body. The low hop rate allows the raisiny malt to dominate completely. Caramelly and warming with low bitterness. An OK doppelbock.

Dunkelmalziger, passend süßer Antrunk mit deutlichen Getreidenoten. Dabei ist die Getreidigkeit zu Beginn stärker und fällt im Mittelteil zurück, allerdings ist auch die Malzigkeit hier nicht mehr in vollem Umfang vorhanden. Gut sind die Aromen aufeinander abgestimmt, auch die nussigen Aromen im hinteren Teil zählen hierzu. Wenig herb, nur minimal röstig. Im Nachgeschmack bekommt die Röstigkeit einen kräftigen Schub, angenehm mild ist die Bitterkeit, die sich insgesamt wenig zeigt. Schokoladige Nuancen bleiben zuletzt. Gut! 9/11/12/12/14/12
