330ml bottle from Middle Farm, Firle. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a short-lived, frothy tan head. The aroma is roasty, earthy. The flavour is over moderate sweet, with a smooth, milky, sugary, chocolate, light liquorice bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with soft carbonation. Too sweet to be sessionable.

15/9/2018. Bottle from Cobbetts, Dorking. Pours black with a small beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, lactose, sugars, nut, chocolate and toffee. Quite heavy sweetness, light bitterness. Moderate body, oily and watery texture, soft carbonation. Sweet slightly toasted finish. Not bad. My Nan would have liked this!

Bottle from the brewery. Very decent low alcohol beer, a bit like påskmust in Sweden. Nice colour, sweet though and watery but hey what do you expect from 2.8%.

Bottle from Harvey’s online. Appearance - close to black with a decent thin head. Nose - light red fruits, toffee. Taste - more of the same. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly balanced finish. Overall - again, they can make a decent beer at low alcohol.

Bottle from Harvey’s brewery shop. It pours black with a medium tan head. The nose is sweet, cola, sugary, mild roast and treacle. The taste is sweet, toasty, charred wood, cola, watery, damp cardboard, sugary and molasses with a short, sort of sweet finish. Light body and moderate carbonation. Simple sweet stout, with not a whole lot going on. Ho hum.
