Keg at the brewpub, 17/07/15. Mahognay brown topped with a decent beige cap that retains well. Nose is malt forward, caramel, sweet notes, vanilla. Taste comprises caramel malt, toffee, light perfume, caramelised brown sugars. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. A bitter sweet Schwarz, not a boring one, good balance.

Vom fans at brewery tap. Pours a dark mahogany brown with a thin white head, bread and dough on the nose, roasted malts, dried fruit and a hint of chocolate in the taste. Liked this. A decent schwarzbier.

Draught @Brewpub. Deep brown, thick light brown head. Roasty, bready aroma, typical. Flavor has roastedness, bread, honey sweetness. Slightly too sweet for me, also bit thin.

1000ml bottle [Repeated thanx to Tanja & Verena!]. Almost clear, dark brown colour, red glimmer, with late and re-awakening, small, frothy to macropore, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white to beige head. Slightly cheesy, dark malty aroma, cautious hints of treacle. Taste is dark malty, minimally metallic, cheesy, curdy; flat carbonation, soft palate, slightly insipid. Certainly lowered quality due to transportation.

Draught @ the brewpub. Pours hazy dark copper brown with airy beige head. Clear aroma of malt, bread and caramel. Bitter and dusty flavour of roasted malt and hops, with subtle sweetish notes of yeast. Mild, estery aftertaste. Very soft carbonation. Easily drinkable but I have tasted better beers of this style.

1l-bottle, looks really good. Beer in the glass deep black, nice head. Starts intense malty, modest dry, fine smokey notes, hints of bacon. Strong-malty finish, dry background, salty hints. A great schwarzbier!
