On tap at Hops & Barley, Berlin, shared with Schieder and Fates11. Clear brown, small head. Malty aroma, light caramel, nuts and bread. Sweet nutty, toasty and some chocolate flavour, minimal bitterness. Light body, smooth, soft carbonation, light finish.

Keg at Hops & Barley, 23/07/22. Dark mahogany brown with a good sized beige cap. Nose is dried fruit rinds, biscuit, raisins, brown bread. Taste comprises earthy fruits brown bread, toffee, baking powder, raisins, dried fruits. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, lighy drying close. Tidy dunkel.

Das Dunkel vom Hops & Barley, vom Faß im versifften Friedrichshain. - Tiefdunkles Kupferrotbraun. - In der Nase dezentes dunkles und röstiges Malz, feine herbale Hopfennoten. - Antrunk schlank und weich mit gediegen dunklem, kräftig röstigem Malz, Vollkornbrot, ein wenig Asche, etwas Torf. Sehr dezente Malzsüße; äußerst feine, perfekt abgeschmeckte zitronige Note. Feine herbale Hopfenherbe. - Ausgezeichnetes, rundes und tiefes Dunkles, nicht so dünn und süß wie viele. (24.7.2020.)

On tap at Hops & Barley, pours a deep dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma brings out of toasted malt, caramel, and bready notes. Flavour is along the same lines, with dry bready caramel. Very nice and malty, with little residual sweetness. Very good.

Tap at the source. Dark chestnut brown, golden brown cream. Roast nose, tomato, mineral, medium light watery, dry roast, clean roasted malts, a tad spongy.
