On tap at the site. Amber with a lasting off-white head. Strong diacetyl aroma with malt and caramel. Thin and sweet caramel and grain flavour with less hops than the helles.

Hazy amber with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and very buttery. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitter. Dry and light bitter finish. Only marginally better than the Hell. 111211

Beer No. 57 on my tour through Austria, Germany and Denmark.
Draught at the brewpub. Slight hazy deep golden coloured, small off-white head, again buttery notes with some caramel. Buttery caramel and mild spicy with short sweet watery finish. Boring.

Draft @ brewpub.

Hazy light amber. Lightly toasty kit beer smell. Toasty, fairly basic brew. You can drink it, but it’s no masterwork.

Draught. Aroma is a lighter version of the jelled. Light malt flavour with an oily texture. To be honest it tastes quite like the helles, which is not a bad thing, just not very Dunkles

(Draught at the brewpub, Berlin, 19 July 2010) Amber colour, hazy, with frothy off-white head. Malty, slightly toasty nose with notes of caramel, dried fruit and spicy hops. Malty, slightly fruity taste with toasty malt, apricots, toffee and spicy hops in a fairly dry finish. Medium body. Quite light and fruity for a dunkel, but quite nice.

Draft. A hazy amber beer with a lazing off-white head. The aroma has notes of butterscotch and caramel. The flavor is sweet with quite a lot of butter and caramel as well as lighter notes of straw, leading to a dry, straw, and buttery finish. Not good.

06/03 Draught at the brewpub, as Dunkel pils. It was quite funny for us to call it so, but as it had hazy orange body, really pale for a dark beer, although many local dunkels were only a tone darker. Medium sized head lived quite long time above the body. Fine sweetish aroma. Flavor is similar, caramelly sweet, but also slightly bitter from hops. Dunkel pils, yes. Thinner body with short, sweetish, caramel and herbal finish. Just as their helles, this didn’t impress me at all, but this is slightly more interesting as it’s strange.
