50cl Brown bottle, best before 27th Nov 2008, drank 17th Feb 2009, almost three months overdue. Nice front label, a Golden Steam Train on a black background with golden stars or snow flakes above. I poured the beer into a Hoegaarden Grand Cru tulip glass (twice). A Pale Euro lager it is not. This is a deep, dark amber coloured lager, with a real red tint to it. The white head consisting of fairly large bubbles soon fell away to a collar and wisp covering. Initial aroma of yeast before the pour, but once out of the bottle there was very little to test my senses on the smell front. gets my normal lager odourless score of 3. Dry, with some malty/molasses sweetness trying to even the dryness up, but failing to do so. The body is typical cheap lager, meaning thin and watery with no force of character or personality. The 6% alcohol does come through, but I think a headache would follow if anyone had more than two of these.
