Sour cherries and pomegranate give this delicate fruited ale rounded red berry flavours and soft jammy notes. Aged in oak whisky barrels for 3 months and finished off with an addition of Tonka, the tart and refreshing fruitiness of the beer is rounded out by hints of woody vanilla a faint smokiness.

Can from Lupe Pintos. Hazy pink body with a few flecks beneath an off-white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of rose, plum and cherry. Flavour of oak, plum and rhubarb. Thin to medium body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. A sharp and interesting beer with subtle influence from the time it’s spent in barrel.

Can from Appellation Wines. Pours plummy red with a pink-tinged head. Aromas of cherry and wood, light spice. Taste is woody first, then juicy ripe cherry. Tangy, sweet finish. Bit of a waste of pomegranate.

Keg at Fierce Abz. It pours lightly hazy deep pink with a decent fluffy white head. The aroma is sweet, juicy, rip, crunchy cherry, cherry pie, cherry drops, jammy and white sugar. The taste is sweet - sour, juicy, tangy, mellow sourness, ripe crunchy cherry, cherry pie, musty, dull funk, dry oak, tannin and muted alcohol presence with a drying finish. Average body and soft carbonation. Mellow and easy going. I would've preferred a touch more tartness tbh, but it's enjoyable nonetheless.

Can from Appellation Wines.
Appearance - deep lipstick red to plum, with pinkish-white fluffy head.
Nose - cherry and wood, for sure. Menthol, going into cherry menthol lozenges.
Taste - oh, wood up front, then opens out to a juicy cherry pie thing, like cherries that have been baked in a pie, basically, plump and oozing juice.
Palate - medium bodied, woody then sweet and tangy, sweet finish.
Overall - good, surprised me!
