Half pint on cask at the Hallcross. Medium creamy beige head. Clear almost black pour. Light bitterness and chocolate.

Cask at the Fieldhouse, Solihull. Poured almost black with a frothy light tan head. The aroma is light sweet malt. The flavour is moderate sweet with a smoky malt, light liqourice, smooth creamy caramel palate. Full bodied with flat carbonation.

Very dark, almost black. Has a strange grassy aroma and flavour with a drier finish. It absolutely doesn’t have body & depth!

Cask (handpump) @ The Kings Head, Huddersfield, England.Clear dark red brown color with a average, creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, berry, light to moderate hoppy. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter (coffee bitter acidic notes) with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20090716]

V small sample at cloisters ...deep brown,light chocolate malts,dry hoppy little toffee and chocolate.

Half pint. Filmy, beige head resting on a ruby-black body. Dark fruity nose. Flavour brings late orange notes mixed with malts and a moderate bitter tail. Suppable (well-kept cask at Bricklayers Arms, Putney, London 18.03.2008)

Cask at The Bricklayers Arms Putney 4 Feb 08. Dark, dark red / black. A tiny off white layer. Strange but pleasant aroma of figs and plums. Complex flavor with plums and prunes dominating. Good!
