St Edmunds is a fresh, golden beer with a citrus finish, brewed using pale malt and cascade hops. Crafted for modern tastes using traditional brewing methods, this is the perfect introduction to real beer.

Cask at Swan, Needham Market. Vague floral aroma. Pale gold. Creamy white head. Light bitter. A hint of sourness. Some spics. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Average carbonation. Abrupt finish. Not unpleasant but generally fails to make an impression.

Cask @ Waterhouse, Manchester. Had a soapy sourness to it (possibly didn’t travel well), however still recognisably a Greene King brew.

Cask at the Mercat. Pours clear golden, thin white head. Aromas are floral hops, light lemon. Taste is biscuit, sweet, light lemon again. It’s ok. Bit sweet on the finish.

On cask at the Mercat. Appearance - golden hazy with a nice head. Nose -floral and citrus notes. Taste - lemon with toffee biscuit backbone. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - probably the best I’ve had from Greene King. Not sure why the score is so low.

Cask at Earl of Derby, Cambridge. Mid gold, clear. Wisps of head but mostly flat. Aroma of sulphur and orange blossom. Chemical bittersweet taste with a bitter-sour finish. Unfortunate lingering aftertaste. One of GK’s less palatable efforts.
