Barcade, NY tap ($6): Pours a murky brown with a tan head. Aroma is sugar, dark fruits, and loads of malt and stuff. Beer is really sweet, possibly too sweet. Loads of malts and stuff. Body is thick and heavy, but still drinkable enough I suppose. Some complexity. This ain’t my favourite.

Draught. Sweet malty flavour. Almost malt syrup. Good roasted aftertaste with some alcohol. A bit too sweet, but partially balanced by the alcohol.

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of Cletus. Pours a clear deep amber with a small off-white head. Caramel, overripe fruit, herbal hoppiness. Solid body, carbonation is a little low, herbal and almost medicinal, again overripe fruit. Not that hoppy - actually even sweet in the finish with a tart touch. 170611

Bottle. Pours muddy brown. Nose and taste of Belgian yeast, brown sugar, burnt orange, fruits and figs. More like a barleywine than an old ale. Very yeasty. Lots of fruit flavors.
