Bottle with huge thanks to Dave. Pours a medium to dark brown with a little bit of head and aromas that are dominated by brown sugar with a little oxidation present. Dark fruit is also detectable. Flavor is simply wonderful, especially considering the age. Oxidation is not very present, but ABV is as is brown sugar and dark fruit. Freaking amazing.

Bottle Pours out a cloudy brown topped with a small head. Aroma was great lots of sweetness caramel, pit fruit and molases. Tast was just the same lots of sweetness. Very thick and rich just as you would hope a 6 year old BW to be. This was very nice. A big thanks to footbalm. I would love another.

Nice deep dark brown coloured body with a lighter brown coloured head. Aroma of brown sugar, nice malt, a subtle hoppiness and a good mild toffee scent. Full-bodied; Strong sweet flavour of toffee and brown sugar with a nice maltiness up front. Aftertaste shows some of the malt and hops with a bit of the toffee and alcohol flavours. Overall, a nice beer was waiting for me over the two years. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased at Merchant’s in Dearborn, Michigan in 25-December-2005.

A dark hazed brown amber ale with a very creamy tan head. A fig and fruity malt aroma, vinous and caramel malt aroma, light chocolate, very smooth, In mouth a very pleasing barley wine, with dirty caramel malt, crisp hops, earthy woody notes, and warming alcohol. Rich and distinguished. Tasted April 2007.

Pour is a dark brown almost molasses like. Aroma is is candy sugar with lots of dark fruits and toffee. Flavor is excellent with raisions, plums and brown sugar. Alcohol is there with a warming effect but does not overpower. A very tasty brew that aged extremly well. Much man love goes to Beerdrenched for this one.

Thanks to CaptainCougar for this one! First glass poured a deep mahogany with ruby highlights, the next glass was muddy brown with yeast chunks floating in the gloom. The aroma was malty with dried fruit. The flavor was of a young Barleywine, sweetness that was tempered by a sharp hop bitterness. No hop aroma. This should improve with age as the hop bitterness gives way to the malt.
