750ml bottle @Pauls Hoboken#1-thanks Jimmack or yobdoog–pours a dissipating tan head and hazy cherry red color. Aroma is sweet dark malt-toffee, fruity-prune/plum/cherry. Taste is sweet dark malt-toffee, fruity-prune/plum/cherry, slight bite. Nice.

750 ml bottle; packaged 01/07. Aroma of sweet dark fruits, roasted malt, and a little yeast/spice. In strong light the color is deep ruby, with enticing bubbles, and a beige head that flattened rather soon. Arguably more than medium bodied, crudely creamy carbonation, and a hit of dark sugars and dark fruits that is nigh overwhelming. Some of it is plummy, some is caramel. The finish is dryer than might be expected, and there is a strong impression on the top of the tongue. Seems spicey or peppery. Not finding a lot of bitter, but this is complex enough that it is not really missed. Most excellent.

2007 Bottle: Pours a reddish brown color with a medium thick beige head that has good retention. Sticky patches of lace. The aroma is toasted malt, dark fruit and yeast. Full-bodied with a nice roasted character. Flavors of malt, spices and chocolate are present. The finish is sweetly spiced with fruity and yeasty aftertaste. I liked this one.

Bright burgundy colour. Rich molasses aroma with some dark rhum, fig and burnt orange. Strong carbonation strips some of the flavours and much of the sweetness from the tongue. Quite sweet, plum, date, fig, brown sugar.
