Der Greizer Bock ist das einzige Starkbier aus der Vereinsbrauerei Greiz. Auf Grund seines enorm kräftigen Malzgeschmacks und hohem Alkoholgehalt von knapp 7 vol.% ist es ein Saisonbier welches nur in der kalten Jahreshälfte angeboten wird.

Greizer Bock, Flasche von Edeka, Genthin. - Schönes Kupfergoldrot, klar. - In der Nase schmalspurig toastiges Malz, Nuß, Brotkruste, leicht faulige Frucht und nur milder herbaler Hopfen. - Antrunk breit toastmalzig mit limonadigem Süßsauer, Bayrisch Blockmalz, Pflaume und billiger herbaler Hopfenherbe. Störende faulige Züge. Durchschnittlich rezent, zwar vollmundig aber hart im Mund, leicht fuselig. Im Abgang hart malzbitter mit gestreßter Hopfenherbe und metallischen Noten. - Wenig überzeugender roter Bock mit störenden Fehlaromen. Zu billig gemacht - schade! (25.2.2020.)

Bottle: Deep golden coloured, small and firm off-white foam; bisquity-caramelly nose, accompanied by very delicate herbal hops and a well hidden touch of alcohol; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied; slightly lingering bitter-bisquity finish. Quite bland for a Bock.....

(bottle) Slightly hazy, deep golden to amber colour with a medium-sized, slightly tanned foamy head. Sweet and slightly yeasty and subtle fruity cara-malty aroma with lighter bready and shy hoppy notes. Sweet flavour with a tinge of bitterness, medium to full bodied with a creamy carbonation. Slightly bready cara-malty taste with very subtle (citrus-)fruity notes; the initial sweetness is drying out a bit towards the malt-accented, slightly hop bitter finish with notes of alcohol shining through. Nevertheless a calm and nice Bock, but nothing more. 11.I.10

Bottle 50cl. @ home.Clear medium orange amber color with a large, frothy, good lacing, fully lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, bock alike, brown sugar. Flavor is heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average duration. Sweetness is artificial sugar sweet ( E numbers ). Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20090413]

Frischer, etwas süßer Antrunk, unscheinbar. Kurze Zeitspäter nimmt das Bier die Züge eines typischen Bockbiers an, es wird kräftiger und leicht alkoholisch-süß, etwas getreidig, angenehm. Das Bier bleibt auch im Abgang so, mittelwürzig, hell. Der Alkohol prickelt etwas in der Nase, ist aber noch in angenehmem Rahmen angelegt. Einfacher aber leckerer Bock.
