12oz bottle. This is a nice classic tasting weizenbock, with some bock notes as well as a wheaty, hefeweizen-like banana sweetness in the yeast. Deep amber-brown color, unfiltered. A great beer, gets extra points for being a quality beer from South America.

12 oz bottle from iowaherkeye; Nose of caramel, cloves, and bananas; cloudy light brown with a medium beige head; flavor more heavy with bananas, cloves, and sweet milk chocolate. Pretty good weisenbock!

bottle - Pours lightly hazy brown with a one finger head. The aroma is mainly malt with a touch of caramel. The flavor is sweet malt and some mild dark fruit notes. The wheat is mild. In fact this one isn’t much different than a typical doppelbock. There’s not much hops noticeable here, but this medium bodied beer with a little of that 8% abv noticeable is a good quaff.

Not too bad. Cloudy copper color, big foamy head. Aroma was lightly phenolic with hints at medicinal clove, and just a touch of banana. Flavor seemed sweetish but was swept away by a high carbonation. Some bubble gum and banana flavors. All flavors pretty restrained. Softer than expected mouthfeel.

Couresy of Degarth. Pours a hazy copper with weak white head. The aroma is grainy muted wheat mixed with mild fruity esters that become grain alcohol. I get a faint caramel note hiding beneath somewhere. The taste has an initial bite due to the carbonation that leans towards figs and dates and obscure off flavored blandness(?). The wheat note is faint. The flavors don’t really come together.

Cloudy, copper red color. Hundreds of tiny bubbles lead to a medium sized creamy beige head. Sweet roasted malt aroma with hints of caramel, honey and banana. Smooth, buttery caramel malt flavor upfront. Wheat malt aftertaste with a light dryish hop finish. Nicely done. Very Bavarian-like.

This is a very good beer. The initial aroma is powerful and has lots of wheat and banana, as well as some sugar. Flavor is moderatel sweet. It has banana, light citrus, cloves and some alcohol. Opaque, cloudy brown like muddy water. Warming alcohol.

Bottle (trade with shigadeyo). Initial aroma was like bologna - as head slowly faded an over-ripe banana and orange aroma came out. Cloudy dark brown-orange with giant head. Iniitial flavor was of sweet orange/banana and wheat malt with a bit of bite to the tongue - lasts throughout swallowing with a moderate astringent/alcohol burn to finish. Really a pretty nice beer that is accurate to the style.

Wow. Banana aroma. Maybe sweet, brown banana. Hazy dark amber color with a beige head that hung around. Medium bodied. Starts with dark sweet malt. Suggestions of wheat. Banana, clove and chocolate are definitely present. Seems to be a little bitter in the finish, but the finish is mostly malt and a bit of banana. Quite an impressive combination.

Twist the lid off of this 12 oz brew and get a whiff of manly beer, sweet, chocolaty, wheaty and strong-ale-ish at the same time, also has a sort of vanilla in there too. This stuff pours like a dunkleweizen in appearance, you know, darker brown and cloudy, but not black. Nice coating of gunk on the bottom of the bottle. You get that hypnotizing swirling particle thing going on when you pour unfiltered wheat properly, love it. The taste is a wallop, sweet syrup alky impact, wew, quite an impression. You want to get buzzed fast? This cannot stand up to Victory Moonglow Weizenbock as far as enjoyability goes. This is more on the level of Samuel Adams Winter Lager, with it’s oppressive servitude. Very coarse and hard to take. Never a session beer, two of these on an empty stomach and you’ll get stopped for a DUI! Each taste has a grainy alcohol tinge. Schneider Aventis is a little better than this also. I noticed that there are many other weizenbocks that do not have such a high alky %. If Vigarosa means invigorating, I’ll agree with that! Wow, each sip is something that cannot be explained. Man, the finish on this is notbitter hoppy nor bitter malty, more like some crazy industrial alky back of throat bitter experience that is medium in length and fretting. Will not purchase again, probably the least tasty weizenbocks I’ve encountered. There is carbonation but you would never notice it with all the other flavor overwhelming going on. Simply mows over my girlie taste buds. However, I am very glad to have had the opportunity to taste this. If you like high alky beers such as Belgian strong of barleywines, give this a try, you may really like it.
