A swirling dynamo of flavor, with a steady calm of satisfaction at its heart, that's Whirlwind Witbier. Offering a tamed tempest of flavors both spicy and sublime, this softly fermented ale greets the nose and tingles the tongue. Imported Belgian yeast charges Whirlwind with an energy all its own. It is a refreshing interpretation of the classic, Belgian 'white beer' style.

Hazy yellow body with small, white head. Aroma is yeasty and spicy with notes of coriander and clove, almost too pungent. The flavor is slightly sweet and evokes tastes of clove, pepper and pear. Medium body with a watery texture. Moderately dry finish. Though this beer has all the aromas and flavors I associate with a witbier, something is off in the way they blend together. Too much tang, too much clove, too thin a palate.

Slightly hazy white body with a small white head. Sweet spiced aroma, with lots of orange peel. Sweet orange peel flavor, some lemon, and mild spice.

Aromas are bready with a little wheaty yeast and some coriander(?). Appearance is about right for a witbier, but nothing to get me too excited. Flavor is pretty plain, too, with a bit of a sour character that seemed to go away as the beer breathed/warmed(?) more... I didn’t like this quality at first, but it grew on me a bit. Still, this isn’t going to be on my top ten list any time soon.

Bottle. Nice subdued American version of a wit. Smell is a bit of orange and lemon. Pours golden with just a little haze, and one or two floaties. One finger head that dies off quickly. Taste has that usual ’nanner and clove character. A bit of brett sourness, methinks, and then an impression of salt. Seems to be a bit off, or I just don’t know my wits.

Poured into a tumbler. Looks like urine. Light yeast aromas. Sweet and lemony with a dry lingering fizzy finish. Tastes better than it looks. Good lawnmower beer.

Hazy golden wit with a creamy collapsing white head. light wheat, cloves and honey aroma. In mouth, watery bananas with notes of cloves, and herbs. Rather thin bodied, not creamy. Not bad but a bit restrained. The bottle is about a year old.

Cloudy yellow body, thin off-white head. Tangy wheat, wet hay, and coriander aroma. Flavor is bready and wheaty with coriander and clove, giving this beer a touch of hefeweizen character. Crisp finish, smooth with little lingering bite. Refreshing and flavorful without being overbearing.

Pours a cloudy yellow with a creamy white head. Aroma is very spicy with lots of cloves in there. Flavor is a bit thin but very peppery and spicy. Really to spicy to be a witbier. Not really the best unless you like a little spice in your brew.

Thanks to Willblake for sending this bonus from PA! This forms a frothy white head above a clear yellow body. Fresh and lemony with a little sourness in the nose. The flavor was a pleasant combination of lemon with all aspects of sweet, tart and sour combining to acheive the tangy overall experience. Not my favorite style, but I enjoyed this and everyone should have a good Wit once in a while after a hot day.
